About Genesis Flexibility

Genesis Flexibility is a car subscription service for Genesis Finance, which is a trading name of Hyundai Capital UK Limited – the finance provider for Genesis Motor UK. The service is specifically for Genesis vehicles, offering a choice of vehicles, personal assistant support, regular scheduled servicing, and flexible subscription duration.

How it Works

Once you have determined your eligibility (you must be over 18 and be able to pass a credit check to obtain finance – or provide a guarantor), you can choose your vehicle, term, mileage and delivery date. Genesis Flexibility will deliver to a range of drop-off locations on mainland UK. Once you have the vehicle, other than for scheduled servicing, you can keep it until the end of your term, up to a maximum of 18 months. The lock-in is 6 months, and if you want to cancel within this time, there will be a charge. Otherwise, provide 30 days’ notice and arrange to return the car to a suitable collection point at the end of the term.

Costs and Fees

Prices range from £1225 per month for a GV60 or GV80. The standard included mileage is 10,000 per year (though this can be customised) with a 9p per mile charge for exceeding this. There is a 14-day cooling off period during which you can cancel your subscription for free, but after this, if you decide to cancel before the 6-month minimum term, you will be charged to do so.

Brands & Models

Genesis Flexibility is exclusively for Genesis vehicles within the following makes:

  • GV60
  • G70
  • GV70
  • GV7 Shooting Brake
  • G80
  • GV80

Notice Periods

The minimum term of subscription is 6 months. After that, you can cancel without penalty by going 30 days’ notice.

What’s Special about Genesis Flexibility?

Genesis Flexibility holds exclusive rights to offer subscriptions to Genesis vehicles. All the cars are new, and the service is generally set up for longer terms – anywhere between 6 and 18 months. The addition of a Genesis personal assistant also allows for a range of changes and customisations mid-contract, though these won’t generally apply until the initial 6-month lock-in has been completed – for example, you can amend your monthly or annual mileage, but only from month 7 onwards.

FAQs

Can I get a used Genesis vehicle?
No. The Genesis Flexibility service is only for new vehicles.

Can I cancel my subscription early?
The lock-in period is 6 months. If you wish to cancel during this time, you can do so but there will be a charge applied.

Will you deliver my vehicle?
Genesis delivers to a range of collection points across mainland UK.

Do you offer electric vehicles?
Yes. The Genesis GV60 is an electric vehicle.

Do you inspect vehicles when they’re returned?
Yes. Genesis carries out a thorough inspection to check that there is no damage that would exceed fair wear and tear.

Conclusion

For fans of Genesis vehicles, the Genesis Flexibility offering is ideal. As the service is for new vehicles only, there isn’t much variation in price and this means fewer affordable options, but if you want all the benefits of a new Genesis car, without any of the hassles of ownership or depreciation, then a 6-18-month subscription is ideal. The indicative mileage is not particularly generous, but this can be customised by speaking to your Genesis personal assistant, though this will of course affect the monthly cost. The company will also deliver to pick-up points that serve most of the UK, making the service accessible to a wide range of people, geographically speaking.
