About Subscribe with Enterprise

Subscribe with Enterprise is a subscription service that operates as part of Enterprise Rent-a-Car. Currently, the service is available in Minnesota, Missouri and Nevada and Georgia. Customers have access to a varying range of vehicles from the Enterprise fleet, with a 2-month initial commitment followed by monthly rolling subscriptions. Their fees vary from state to state and vehicle to vehicle, so rather than this information being explicitly available, Enterprise will discuss each contract on individual terms.

How it works

Enterprise’s subscription service works the same as dedicated subscription companies:

  • Complete the sign-up process, during which Subscribe with Enterprise will check your driver record and credit. You must be over 25 and provide a credit card.
  • Pay the joining fee and first month’s subscription up front. The fee includes insurance, roadside assistance and maintenance.
  • You can flip your car 4 times per month by contacting Enterprise and allowing 3 days’ notice.
  • For cancellation, contact the company and they will prorate based on the date of return (excluding the first two months).

The car can be returned to any Enterprise location within the three designated states. No deliveries are currently available.

Cost and fees

Enterprise do have a joining fee and ask for a minimum subscription of two months. The fees they charge are not advertised though, as they depend on location, length and vehicle. Any tolls, fines or otherwise are automatically charged to your card as and when Enterprise receives them. They do provide prorated credit for returning vehicles early and have no stated mileage limits on their vehicles.

The insurance terms include customer responsibility for the first $1000 of damage in an accident, but you and one pre-authorized additional driver are covered for:

  • $100,000 for bodily injury or death to one individual
  • $300,000 for bodily injury or death to more than one individual
  • $50,000 for injury to or destruction of property

Brands and models

Enterprise’s main commitment is to the rental market, and it is perhaps for that reason that they don’t advertize specific vehicles on their subscription service; rather tiers or sizes of car. Here is an indicative list:

Full-Size and Premium Sedans: Nissan Altima, Chevy Impala, Toyota Camry, Chrysler 300 or similar
Compact, Intermediate and Standard SUVs: Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Kona, Nissan Rogue, Toyota RAV4, Ford Explorer, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Nissan Pathfinder or similar
Standard and Full-Size Pickup Trucks: Chevy Colorado, Nissan Frontier, Dodge Ram 1500, Ford F150 or similar

Notice periods

No cancelation is possible during the first two months, but thereafter you can cancel immediately by contacting Enterprise and they will prorate your subscription costs from the date they receive the vehicle back to one of their offices.

What’s special about Subscribe with Enterprise?

Subscribe with Enterprise’s subscription offering allows four flips per month, which puts it near the top of the flexibility stakes among its competitors. In addition, the ability to return a car in the middle of a subscription month and have your charge prorated is a level of flexibility that many other companies don’t offer.

However, the main draw for customers in Nevada, Missouri and Minnesota is partly that Enterprise is a global firm and might therefore garner more trust, and partly that they have so many offices that returns are easier than with other firms. You can pick up from one location and return to one in a completely different spot, making non-circular travel easier.

Social media

Subscribe with Enterprise doesn’t have any social media accounts separate to the main Enterprise pages on Facebook.

FAQs

What are Enterprise subscriptions?
Subscribe with Enterprise is an alternative to owning or leasing. Instead, you pay a monthly, auto-renewing payment that gives you access to a selection of vehicles and includes insurance, maintenance, and roadside assistance. You can also flip your vehicle four times per month.

How much is Subscribe with Enterprise?
This varies depending on the vehicle and the state you are in. However, what you pay includes the enrollment fee, subscription fee and any additional toll fees.

Where can I get Subscribe with Enterprise?
Currently, Minnesota, Missouri and Nevada. However, Enterprise are looking at expanding to more states in the future.

Can I take my car over the border?
Typically, you will be allowed to drive your car in Canada with prior notice. However, most subscription contracts do not permit entry to Mexico.

Can I return my vehicle after hours?
No, you must return your vehicle during the office hours of the specified location. Please make sure you contact the relevant location to schedule your drop-off.

Conclusion

Subscribe with Enterprise is a difficult subscription offering to compare to its rivals, as it operates within a large multinational corporation with many fee structures. This means that the costs aren’t as transparent as with smaller, subscription only firms. However, they offer flips, monthly rolling contracts and terms that include insurance and roadside assistance, in line with their competitors. But it is the range of choice coupled with the feeling of security that customers often get from using a big, well-known name, that will represent the main reason to use Enterprise for most.

  1. I can’t see why I would ever buy a car again to be honest! No maintenance problems, no anything really – just gas and your payments. It’s great to take away one extra stress in life. - from LS Ribbons | 2020-05-27
  2. I guess for what is effectively a short-term rent, I expected maybe a little more from the standard of vehicle like the overall state of the car. I know there are other companies out there who do more but it wasn’t particularly bad; just it didn’t meet my expectations. - from Stubbs3D | 2020-04-03
  3. Enterprise have a cool service, it’s really flexible. I don’t think other companies let you cancel halfway through a month and get the charges prorated. You get 4 flips a month too – I never needed that many so I was never disappointed. I think it’s great. 5* - from C Beardsell | 2020-03-16
  4. If you’re like me and new to subscriptions, Enterprise are a great compromise because it’s an established name. You get all their cars to choose from and obviously there are lots of different centers. It seems like a good service and not too expensive either. - from TomHughes37 | 2020-02-13
