About Maruti Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki is a subscription service from Suzuki, offering access to a wide range of Suzuki vehicles across over 20 of India’s main cities.

Customers can choose from 12-monthly incremental subscription terms, starting from a minimum of 12 months. There is also the option for white or black plate registration, depending on whether you’re acting as an individual or on behalf of a business. Subscription tenures can be extended to five years, and there is also the option to upgrade or purchase the vehicle at the end of your term.

How it works

The sign-up process involves submitting your license and ID for KYC and credit scoring purposes. Customers must be over 25 and under 65, with a credit score of above 650 CIBIL to be considered. All vehicles come with a 10,000km per year limit and insurance coverage, engine protection, roadside assistance and maintenance. The typical lead time is around 25 days, and you can cancel at any time following the end of the lock-in period (50% of total agreed tenure). Customers can also choose to extend or purchase the vehicle at any time.

Costs and fees

Prices range from around 13,776 per month, but this varies on available vehicles and the city you are in. The excess mileage charge is 3 to 5 INR per km, excluding taxes. Towing charges are a maximum of 1500 INR per incident.

The current range on offer includes varying specs of:

  • Maruti Suzuki Swift
  • Maruti Suzuki Dzire
  • Maruti Suzuki Baleno
  • Maruti Suzuki Brezza
  • Maruti Suzuki Ciaz
  • Maruti Suzuki XL6

What’s Special about Maruti Suzuki?

Being a Suzuki-specific service, Maruti Suzuki provide brand new cars across the range. The allowable mileage is quite high, and there are multiple pricing options from 13,776 per month (city dependent). With the option to extend to four years, subscribing with Maruti Suzuki can almost feel like ownership, so it is no surprise that the option to buy your car at any point in the tenure is available across the board.

Social media

Maruti Suzuki use the main page to keep customers updated about the latest subscription offers, as well as general vehicle information: Facebook.

What is the difference between a white plate and a black plate subscription?
A white plate subscription is registered in your name, while a black plate is a commercial vehicle registered to the subscription partner. If you choose a black plate, there will be additional charges when you cross certain state borders.

What is the down payment for Maruti Suzuki?
There is no down payment. You just pay the monthly subscription fee.

Where do the cars come from?
Maruti Suzuki partners with several subscription firms, such as ALD Automotive, Myles and Orix. This means you have a wider range to choose from, including SUVs.

Are there any age restrictions?
Yes. To use Maruti Suzuki’s subscriptions, you must be between 25 and 65.

How long does it take to get my car?
You should allow 15 days for delivery of your first vehicle. This covers the time it takes to process paperwork and guarantee availability.

The Maruti Suzuki offering is quite varied when compared with its other brand-specific competitors, and will appeal in particular to lower earners. While you can choose a tenure of between 12 and 48 months, there are no truly short-term options, meaning that Maruti Suzuki is targeting a slightly different demographic to some of its competitors, who offer truly short-term options. As Suzuki is widespread through India, there are plenty of locations served, and service and maintenance under the plan can be carried out at any of the several thousand Suzuki locations across the country, which adds to the flexibility of the service.
