About Mahindra Subscription

Mahindra Subscription is a service provided directly by Mahindra that allows customers to access brand-new cars on a year-by-year basis, with insurance, maintenance and roadside assistance included. With Mahindra being one of the most high-profile manufacturers of SUVs in India, the service specifically deals with the SUV range, covering multiple cities across India. The service is provided through Revv’s Open subscription service, which operates with other vehicle models in many cities.

How it works

The service is managed by Revv Open, but sign-up details, eligibility criteria, and access to the service can be achieved through the Mahindra Subscription site. The service works exactly the same as its competitors, but only focuses on new vehicles; specifically, SUVs.

  • Pass the ID and driving license check, then choose the SUV you want – you can select the colour as the car will be ordered brand-new from Mahindra
  • Receive delivery of the car – you can contact Mahindra to arrange servicing
  • Change your vehicle, cancel your subscription, extend the subscription, or purchase the car at the end of your term
  • Stick within the mileage limit as there are charges for going over

Costs and fees

The refundable security deposit depends on the vehicle you choose, and is typically in line with the monthly subscription fee. You are entitled to 25,000 km per year , with an excess charge if you need to use it, or the opportunity to request an extra mileage package up front.

There is no cost involved with cancelling your subscription or changing vehicle at the end of your term, but if you want to cancel mid-term, you will be charged a prorated amount based on how long you have left on the contract. Similarly, if you want to purchase the vehicle, you will get a settlement fee that is based on how long you have already had the car.

There are no on-top charges for insurance, maintenance, or roadside assistance.

Brands and models

The Mahindra subscription service covers new SUVs only:

  • XUV300 W4 DS, W4 PM, S6 DS AMT, W6 DS, W6 PM
  • Scorpio S5, S7
  • XUV500 W5, W7
  • Alturas G4 2WD / 4WD
  • KUV K4+ 6 / 6+ 6 Str NXT
  • Thar AX 4-STR HardTop Diesel MT, LX HardTop Diesel MT / AT / Petrol MT

Notice periods

In theory, you can cancel any time you like, but as the minimum term is a year, you will be charged a prorated cancellation fee if you return the car before the year is up. At the end of each 12-month cycle or other contract length, your concierge will contact you.

What is special about Mahindra Subscription?

For those of you who like Mahindra’s vehicles and SUVs, the Mahindra Subscription option gives you access to a range of the latest models, and you can decide to keep your vehicle at the end of your term by buying outright. As the subscription is on a year-by-year basis, this is a long-term service that is effectively like a long hire, with insurance, servicing and roadside assistance all included. Mahindra also assist with transferring the car into your name at the RTO if you decide to buy.

Conclusion

Mahinda Subscription has focused specifically on customers who drive SUVs and even offer their HardTop range. As this is a year-on-year subscription that only deals with new cars, it may be less affordable to some and does not offer the same level of flexibility as monthly or weekly subscriptions. However, with the subscription package including insurance, roadside assistance, and maintenance, as well as the option to buy, this is the ideal way to get the benefits of a brand-new car without responsibilities beyond one year.
