About Simplr

Simplr. is a car subscription company with over 1000 vehicles to choose from and on one of three weekly/fortnightly/monthly plans. You choose the plan, add the car (and its cost) on top, then drive away in an all-inclusive vehicle on a 120-day minimum subscription term. You have the option to switch your car after 120 days. Customers can sign up, arrange collection, then drive until their return date, with the option to purchase at the end of the term. The service is available to over 21-s with a P2 license as a minimum and no convictions in the last five years.

How Simplr works

Simplr’s motto is “Your car, your way.” Customers choose the vehicle and subscription tier they wish, proceed through the eligibility checks (ID, age, finances, driver record), then arrange a time for collection. Your subscription includes insurance (with variable excesses available), breakdown with National Roadside Assist, and maintenance. Included in the breakdown cover are:

  • Breakdown & Flat Tyre Repair
  • Jump Start & Battery Replacement
  • Towing
  • Emergency Fuel
  • Accident Response

Costs and fees

Simplr. offers its service under three tiers as follows:


  • 200km included per week
  • 120 days minimum term
  • Free to swap car after 120 days
  • $12.50 per day over 120 days minimum term
  • $1500 establishment fee

  • $1500 establishment fee


  • 750km included per week
  • 120 days minimum term

In terms of insurance, you can add liability protection to reduce your liability from $3500 to $2000, and you can buy extra mileage 200km booster packs.

Brands and models

Simplr. offers one of the widest ranges of vehicles in the subscription market, with over 1000 cars to browse through Australia wide, including the following brands:

  • Landrover

Within the makes, several models are available, with a price guide on how much it costs to fill the tank, how much the subscription and mileage might be, whether the car is manual / automatic, and what the odometer reading is (used and demo vehicles available only).

Notice periods

Each vehicle has a minimum subscription term of 120 days. For a free vehicle swaps, each vehicle must reach this minimum term and provide Simplr with 21 days’ written notice to swap. To swap a vehicle before its minimum term, an early vehicle swap fee is applied.

What is special about Simplr?

With several subscription plans to choose from and 14 locations available Australia wide, Simplr is the definition of enjoying the freedom and flexibility of car ownership without the commitment.

Their insurance and breakdown packages are comparable with the competition, but what sets Simplr. apart is the sheer range of vehicles available to customers, with over 1000 cars in their inventory. You can use an automatic or a manual, with used and demo vehicles ranging from everyday cars to more high-end vehicles, meaning there is something for every budget and lifestyle.


As of yet, there are yet no YouTube videos to accompany Simplr’s subscription service.

How do I pay tolls?
You are responsible for paying tolls on your vehicle. You must make sure that you update your toll account with the car’s registration plate.

How often do Simplr take payments?
With Simplr, you can choose the payment cycle before you start your subscription. Your choices are weekly, fortnightly or monthly with payments taken in advance of the period they cover.

Can I swap my car before 120 days?
Yes you can swap early by giving 21 days’ notice. However, if you do this, there will be an early swap fee of $350.

How many additional drivers can I add?
You can add up to five additional drivers. Each driver will need to meet the same eligibility criteria that you did to get the subscription in the first place, and there will be a charge of $10 per additional driver, per week.

Is subscribing to a vehicle the same as renting?
There are similarities in that you don’t own the vehicle and at the end of the term, you give it back. However, the difference is the flexibility. With Simplr, you can subscribe longer term, swap your vehicle for something else, or keep it short-term.


Simplr’s lowest tier starts at just $178 per week, making it accessible to most budgets, although the establishment fee means that the initial outlay is on the higher side in the Australian car subscription market.

The service is designed to be easy to use with plenty of flexibility, and customers have all the standard benefits (insurance, maintenance, breakdown) that you should expect from a quality subscription offering. Overall, the range of vehicles will be the main draw to customers of all budgets.

"Establishment fee" of $1500.00, non-refundable, but guaranteed the car we selected and then it was sold, they denied a refund of the 'establishment fee" because the dealership didn't get the email. That is a breach of the Australian Consumer Law and they ignored that fact. Worse car subscription ever! Simplr is absolutely amazing I’ve used them for more than 2 yrs and they have been absolutely amazing from the cars to calls stress free paperwork the backup service and the customer service team especially are amazing no matter what I’ve needed they go all out to accommodate us ..
